Hand Coming Out of Cake

Made this cake so I could put a light inside and have some glow coming out of the lid.  I also made it so that when you cut the cake it would look like it was bleeding.  Happy Halloween!

Texas Birthday Cake

This has been so far my favorite cake!!! .  The top tier started as a smaller version of the first round cake only the inside of the cake was red on the top layer and the bottom layer was blue with white icing in the middle.   Right before frosting it I decided to carve it in the shape of Texas. Between the first and the second tier I put as many Texas icons I could think of including a handkerchief, a bob wire made of tootsie rolls, since i like to work with it whenever I can, a yellow rose, the Alamo blue bonnets and longhorns.

Texas Yellow Rose Cupcake

Most of the time I like to do cupcakes and cookies to go with my cakes.  Since the roses on the cakes are made of gumpaste and are hard to eat I made cupcakes to look like little pots with totally edible icing roses.

Texas Cookies

Since I looooove to make cookies I thought of making these cookies before I even designed the Texas cake.

Pirate Cupcake

These cupcakes go with the pirate themed cake.  I got the idea from the Planet Cake book which is one of the first books I bought when I started baking.

Pirate Cake

This cake was made for my friend's son's 8th year birthday party.  The theme was pirates!!!!  The top tier has a skull with a bandanna on top but the surprise it that the inside color of the cake matches the outside.  The middle tier has stars outside and the flavor is strawberry.  I punched the color so it came out red to match the bandanna of the skull.  The bottom tier has  swords all around and is chocolate just in case there where any chocoholics in the crowd.

Pirate Eyepatch Cookie

So far these are the cookies that I'm most proud of.  A working eye patch cookie!!  When they were handed out the kids didn't know whether to eat them or play with them.

Pirate Chocolate Lollies

First time making lollipops.  I made these for the pirate themed cake.
